There is no charge for awesomeness  (By Ed Dale & Dan Raine)

The thirty day challenge has begun. Sorry for delaying the post for thirty day challenge. I should have post it after the Day 1 of thirty day challenge. Sorry folks

A Magnificent Symphony in Four Parts

As far as I’ve learned so far, the basic and most important steps towards creating your own products.

Today, smart marketers or entrepreneurs will spent total 95% in market research before they start to create their own products. Based on thirty day challenge, we will spent most of our valuable time in market research, then the rest will be traffic, conversion and product creation.

The magnificent symphony in four parts are:

1 - Market Research, Getting Ideas

getting idea

This is where we get ideas, market research and so on. Without proper market research, it is absolutely wasting your time to create your own products.

2 - Traffic

traffic

Traffic I mean here is visitor visits your website. Without getting visitor to visit your online store or website, is just like open your store in the dessert. We need traffic to test the outcome of market research. If you have developed a new coffee recipe, at least has someone to taste the coffee before you going to sell to your customer.

3 - Conversion

conversion

This is one of the crucial part. Driving traffic thus convert those traffic into cash. For example if we have driven 1000 visitors to our website, but we still didn’t manage to make a single sale. This is like getting ZERO conversion. None of the visitors convert into customers. So, conversion is a very important technique to master in thirty day challenge.

4 - Product

product creation, product

After we’ve confirmed product “A” has the market that able to convert visitors into customers, then it’s time to create our own products. 95% will go for market research, traffic and conversion, the rest 5% will only go for product creation. The sequence is research first product later.

Thirty Day Challenge, Day 1 - Getting Ideas

The task for Day 1 thirty day challenge is getting ideas. Take out a piece of blank paper and start to write your ideas. There is no right or wrong. No prejudge or filtering at this stage. Just list out all those ideas that pops out from your mind.

Perhaps if you want to get more ideas by surfing, pay a visit to amazon.com

Yes, go to magazines section, click books - then click magazines & newspaper section. Write down those ideas in a piece of paper or note. No prejudge and filtering.

See, now we have plenty of ideas in market research

  • dog fancy
  • air & space
  • gourment
  • mental floss
  • … and many more

Here’s the task for Day 1 Thirty Day Challenge

  1. Get 5 - 10 ideas
  2. Go to Google News and type your ideas in keyword and set Google Alert.
  3. Take RSS feed to Google Reader

My progress:

  1. Basically I’ve come out with 10 ideas.
  2. Store those keywords in Google alert.
  3. All 10 ideas do not have RSS feed, so there’s no need to save to my Google Reader.
  4. Time taken: 1 day (including this blog posting)

How about you? Did you come out with some ideas?
