2008 Thirty Day Challenge – Day 3 – Competition Analysis

thirty day challenge

Here come day 3 of thirty day challenge

Today is about competition analysis using market samurai. There are literally two types of competition analysis can be used. Competition analysis using market samurai for samurai attack (YEE HAA) or traditional competition analysis.

market samurai

Competition Analysis using market samurai

market samurai, thirty day challenge

According to thirty day challenge, there are two basic criteria for finding a micro niche keyword.

SEOT >= 80 and SEOC <= 30,000 (Wait! I know you gonna ask me what is SEOT or SEOC)

SEOT = search engine optimization traffic;

SEOC = search engine optimization competition

There is a section in market samurai keyword analysis, which we can use the filter mode to meet our criteria above.

market samurai

There is where I set the SEOT min = 80 and SEOC max = 30000.

Easy right? In actual SEO technique, there is more than that … (scary?)

After that I can start to analyse the keyword… pretty cool rite? (Actually this tool is damn good!)

In thirty day challenge, we only need to come out one micro niche keyword. Yes, only one. Nothing more than that.

Basically I’ve come out with few micro niche keywords in case some of the keywords are not profitable. This is for my future expansion. (like world of warcraft expansion )

Search Engine Optimization with market samurai

Ok, here come the cool part! I like this one.

Beside analyze those keywords in keyword research section. Now comes to SEO competition analysis.

market samurai, seo

This is going to be total comprehensive and complicated…!

Deep in our micro niche keyword on SEO competition… Bomb! Here comes the result… This is my first micro niche keyword and hopefully it will get to rank number 1 in Google.

seo, market samurai, competition analysis

I’m still in the mist of analyzing this data… So based on SEOT = 111 and SEOC = 10300, this is the results analyzed by market samurai.

There are two section in this SEO optimization…

Off page optimization: DA, PR, ALX, BLP, BLD, BLEG, DMZ & YAH

On page optimization: Title, URL, Desc, Head & CA

Wow, looks tough for a newbie to understand those terms right? But for veteran marketer, those are “chicky pie”…

So, will my keyword going to rank in Google number one spot?

Sorry, I don’t have the answer yet, will give you the answer once the keyword is ready to dance.

Here’s the task for Day 3 Thirty Day Challenge

  1. Get your keyword to meet SEOT and SEOC criteria
  2. Analyze keyword in SEO competition

My progress:

  • I’ve found few micro niche keywords. One for 30Dc and others for standby (for future expansion.. Sorry, this is not games add on )
  • Job done on Day 3.. take a rest.

2008 Thirty Day Challenge – Day 2 – Samurai Attack!

market samurai

There is no charge for awesomeness  (thirty day challenge motto?)

It’s day 2 in thirty day challenge. Today, market samurai is introduced and this is another powerful profitable niche marketing tool to be available for all thirty day challenge members.

See, another freebies from thirty day challenge.

market samurai

Market samurai still in BETA testing but it is still free for thirty day challenge members. I’ve started to use market samurai to do my keyword research. Not bad! If you want to try it, just head over to marketsamurai.com. But so far market samurai still has plenty of bugs to fix, that’s why it is still in beta stage.

Looking for microniche

In day 2, use your previous 10 ideas generated in day 1, and then start to look for the micro niche.

micro niche, micro scope

What is micro niche?

Ok, that’s interesting!

1) If you go to Google and type Golf, here’s the results:

“Results 110 of about 593,000,000 for golf“- There is a MARKET for golf

2) If you go to Google and type Golf Club, here’s the results:

“Results 110 of about 44,200,000 for golf club“- This is a MEGA NICHE

3) If you go to Google and type Cavity Backed Irons, here’s the results:

“Results 110 of about 361,000 for cavity backed irons” – This is a NICHE

4) If you go to Google and type Forged Cavity Backed Irons, here’s the results:

“Results 110 of about 49,500 for forged cavity backed irons” – This is a MICRO NICHE

Is forged cavity backed irons related to golf?

The answer is yes! But the search results of 49,500 still consider far from a micro niche. What we are looking for is below 30,000 search results according to thirty day challenge criteria.

Basically, what is the criteria for a micro niche?

As I know from thirty day challenge, the meet the criteria of micro niche “keyword”, we should be getting maximum 30,000 search results. This can be categorized as below:

  • 1,000,000 +  (A MARKET)
  • 100,000 – 1,000,000 (MEGA NICHE)
  • 30,000 – 100,000 (NICHE)
  • less than 30,000 (MICRO NICHE)

Basically we are looking for keywords with less than 30,000 search results in Google.

Here’s the task for Day 2 Thirty Day Challenge

  1. Learn to use market samurai for keyword research.
  2. If market samurai is not working for you, move to manual keyword research using google adwords.
  3. See all the videos in Day 2 and tutorials for market samurai.
  4. Put all 10 ideas in market samurai and study for keyword research.

My progress:

  • explore keyword research using market samurai
  • trying to master the technique of keyword research using market samurai
  • It’s tough to keep up the pace in thirty day challenge. Have to keep on the momentum with my own team members and show our commitment.

Sorry folks! Time is running out, see you in thirty day challenge:razz:

2008 Thirty Day Challenge – Day 1

thirty day challenge

There is no charge for awesomeness  (By Ed Dale & Dan Raine)

The thirty day challenge has begun. Sorry for delaying the post for thirty day challenge. I should have post it after the Day 1 of thirty day challenge. Sorry folks

A Magnificent Symphony in Four Parts

As far as I’ve learned so far, the basic and most important steps towards creating your own products.

Today, smart marketers or entrepreneurs will spent total 95% in market research before they start to create their own products. Based on thirty day challenge, we will spent most of our valuable time in market research, then the rest will be traffic, conversion and product creation.

The magnificent symphony in four parts are:

1 – Market Research, Getting Ideas

getting idea

This is where we get ideas, market research and so on. Without proper market research, it is absolutely wasting your time to create your own products.

2 – Traffic

traffic

Traffic I mean here is visitor visits your website. Without getting visitor to visit your online store or website, is just like open your store in the dessert. We need traffic to test the outcome of market research. If you have developed a new coffee recipe, at least has someone to taste the coffee before you going to sell to your customer.

3 – Conversion

conversion

This is one of the crucial part. Driving traffic thus convert those traffic into cash. For example if we have driven 1000 visitors to our website, but we still didn’t manage to make a single sale. This is like getting ZERO conversion. None of the visitors convert into customers. So, conversion is a very important technique to master in thirty day challenge.

4 – Product

product creation, product

After we’ve confirmed product “A” has the market that able to convert visitors into customers, then it’s time to create our own products. 95% will go for market research, traffic and conversion, the rest 5% will only go for product creation. The sequence is research first product later.

Thirty Day Challenge, Day 1 – Getting Ideas

The task for Day 1 thirty day challenge is getting ideas. Take out a piece of blank paper and start to write your ideas. There is no right or wrong. No prejudge or filtering at this stage. Just list out all those ideas that pops out from your mind.

Perhaps if you want to get more ideas by surfing, pay a visit to amazon.com

amazon, thirty day challenge

Yes, go to magazines section, click books – then click magazines & newspaper section. Write down those ideas in a piece of paper or note. No prejudge and filtering.

amazon, thirty day challenge

See, now we have plenty of ideas in market research

  • dog fancy
  • air & space
  • gourment
  • mental floss
  • … and many more

Here’s the task for Day 1 Thirty Day Challenge

  1. Get 5 – 10 ideas
  2. Go to Google News and type your ideas in keyword and set Google Alert.
  3. Take RSS feed to Google Reader

My progress:

  1. Basically I’ve come out with 10 ideas.
  2. Store those keywords in Google alert.
  3. All 10 ideas do not have RSS feed, so there’s no need to save to my Google Reader.
  4. Time taken: 1 day (including this blog posting)

How about you? Did you come out with some ideas?

confidence

Are you still waiting the money to drop from the sky?

Creating a system of success

I’ve recently dropped one of my niche topic due to some unforeseen circumstances. That’s pretty sad to make this decision. To be true, I’m not really dropping the niche, just temporary put aside.

I’ve spent 2 days researching the niche and study some of the keywords, but at last I dropped the niche. One of the reason is, when I doing a study using Google trends, the search results suddenly drop to 0.  :???:

Did you come across such situation before?

That is a tough decision to put aside the niche, but what can I do now is keep on moving forward. I will not feeling down because of this situation. What I can do now is…keep moving forward.

There are literally thousands of niche market out there, just do another research and start the ride again!

That is the tough part of success in online business. Many people tell you making money online is easy, some do tell you making money online is tough, which one do you believe?

Making money online is tough or easy?

In my experience, I always believe … not to say believe because I have faced a lot of difficulties trying to make money online. If you looking forward to make few dollars or hundred online, it may be easy.. but when we are talking about making hundreds or thousands consistently, keeping the traffic and maintain the profit is very tough and challenging.

Last time, I’ve managed to make some good money but my income suddenly drop for the last two months. There are a lot of “bumpers” along the route to success in online business.

But I still didn’t give up yet until I “breath the last thin air”…

If you think making BIG money online is as easy as 1-2-3, or as easy as mentioned by those guru out there.. then I urge you to give up to forget about your dream.

I’ve been in this industry for almost 2 years, but I feel like just started to learn …

There are too much technique to learn in online business.

I have one target, it is to learn, master and be specialize in “A SYSTEM OF SUCCESS”. I am still doing a lot of testing, trying, split testing … and a lot more… to come out a “system of success“. If  I able to  create this system ,  then I can apply to any niche marketing out there as easy as eating a chicken pie

My target is 3 – 6 months to create this “system of success”. Wish me good luck!

Do you have your own system of success?

Next post let’s talk more about dream… I like dream.. especially achievable one

What is twitter? How to use twitter?

what is a twitter, twitter
Twitter is a another fun tool to share and exchanging ideas with your friends or family.

Actually it is not limit family and friends, you can talk to any person you like as long as he is using twitter

It is almost like another type of instant messenger, msn / yahoo / aim / QQ (China) or … for example in msn, when you want to talk to a group of friends, you need to add them in a chat room… invite them one by one… but with twitter, you don’t need it.

What you need to do is, just add your friends who has twitter account. For example, If I have a twitter account, you can click “follow” me to see what am I doing lately… confused? Let’s get twitter itself to explain in simple English. See Video below:

Did I clear your doubts? Twitter is just fun and yet another powerful tools in 2008 era.

Now, with the latest development on twitter, it has come down to Twitter Vision. There are 2 types of viewer. “CLASSIC” or “3D”

Recently someone just twit me about twitter vision. So I decided to share this out with you guys.

Do you know what is twitter vision?

Twittervision is a real-time geographic visualization of posts to Twitter. I tell you, this is pretty interesting. Get over to twittervision and take a look. In “3D mode”, you can see the day and night different in a globe.

twitter, twitter vision

If you see the 3D mode, a person named kiwofusi talking to someone via twitter, twittervision is pointing this guy from Japan. Is it great? Of course! You can see the day and night global effects. If you click the class mode, the twittervision mode will switch to 2D map like as below:

Just finished building another niche website

I’ve just finished building another niche website

It took me 8hrs today to build a complete niche website. Feeling a bit tired today. Let me see what’s the time now… 12.01am Ops, I think it’s pretty early for me and I still feeling energetic to keep on going.

Yesterday it took me 5hrs to research for another niche topic. Nowadays it is not easy to locate a low competitive and high demand niche topic. Every single minutes globally, every online marketer is looking for profitable niche topic to make a decent income from Internet. So, it’s pretty tough to look for a low competition + high demand niche market.

Even though I have spent around 5hrs yesterday, it’s still worth because I think I’ve strike a LOTTERY? Not really, I just found a low competitive + medium demand niche topic. Phew! That’s good enough :)

After a long journey of research and research and research.. (R + R + R), I compiled all the data and quickly jumped over to Godaddy.com register a domain for this niche topic.

Register a domain is another tough challenge again! Nowadays, it is not easy to get a short, easy to remember, keyword targeted domain… But again, I’ve successfully register a great domain!

godaddy, research niche

Another lucky star for me, is angel following me?

So, looks like I’m pretty lucky so far. But according successful people

Success = 98% work + 2% lucky star :)

After registering the domain, Godaddy charged me $9.99 + $0.20 = $10.19 per DotCom domain.

Why another $0.20? Why not $0.15 or $0.18 or $0.12?

$0.20 is billable ICANN fee per domain name per year. Want to know more about ICANN? You can go to http://www.icann.org/

$10.19 for a single .com, want to get some discount? Here are some Godaddy promo or source code. (Save few bucks to buy french fries :) )

  • OYH3 – $3 off / $6.95 any .COM (renewals too… just used it) <— I use this :)
  • BTPS7 – 20% any order of $50 or more
  • OYH1 – 10% off whatever
  • OYH2 – $5 off a $30 purchase
  • BTPS4 – 10% off anything
  • chill1 – 10% off
  • chill2 – $5 off $30
  • chill3 – $6.95 .coms
  • hash1 – 10% off
  • hash2 – $5 off $30
  • hash3 – $6.95 .com registration
  • gdd1101c – 10% off any order of $40 or more…

After payment to Godady via Paypal. Time to get ready for website building

  • Change the nameserver to my hosting company
  • Add this new domain to my hosting account
  • Configure my FTP (FTP = File Transfer Protocol)
  • Build the homepage / landing page and the rest…
  • Set up my autoresponder using aweber (The best email auto-responder in the market, highly recommended)
  • Write newsletter series… (”old grandma story”)
  • … blah…blah…blah…

At last… my niche website is ready to go. Now I own another piece of the Internet. :)

Before I going to blast traffic to my website, let me make a list of traffic generation before I start to prepare for the BOOM! … … … (writing on a piece of paper)

That’s for today… feeling a bit tired now.. What’s the time now, bro? 12.44am

OK… before I go to sleep… study for more traffic generation technique… :)

Sometimes when I talk about Internet, I’m can be self-excited :)

Do you have such feeling? :)

An honest hostgator hosting reviews

hostgator hosting reviews, hostgator review

I am giving my honest review on hostgator hosting

Where do you host your website? For me, I only use hostgator to host my websites including this blog itself.

I have been using hostgator for almost 2 years and I am very satisfied and happy with their support especially the “live chat” service.

hostgator hosting reviews, hostgator review

Their support team in the live chat are extraordinary. That’s why I still be using their service until today. Hostgator offers few packages for hosting and you have to choose according to your usage.

hostgator hosting reviews, hostgator review

If you are a starter and would like to host your blog using wordpress, probably the “baby” package is more than enough.

If you ask me “Why don’t buy the Hatchling package?” If you refer to Domain Allowed, it is only allowed to add 1 domain to the hosting rather than Baby package adding UNLIMITED domains.

The price difference is only $3 dollar, come on man… take the Baby package. I highly recommended you take the Baby package for beginner

If let’s say your websites are receiving high traffic, then you can upgrade to Swamp package in the future. Nothing to worry on it. Just take the Baby package will do.

Alert, some hosting company do not allowed to host adults sites. If you want to host your adults blog or websites, please check with them before you register for the hosting.

Don’t wait until they terminate your account, then you only realized you have break their rules and regulations. :)

That’s my personal honest review for hostgator hosting.

How about you? What is your recommended hosting company? :)
